Since reading a list of common everyday foods that are proven to be deadly, I’ve begun to focus on healthier alternatives. Often referred to as Steelhead Salmon, the fish is actually a Rainbow Trout and is so high in Omega-3 that it has been prescribed by Medical Doctors to cardiac patients.
Pan Seared Steelhead with Jalapeno Blueberry Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 Steelhead Salmon Fillets
- Salt & Pepper to Taste
- 2 T Sugar
- ½ C Apple Juice
- 2 C Blueberries
- 4 Jalapeños, finely diced
- 1 T Vegetable Oil
Directions

Wash and dry filets.

Sprinkle with salt, pepper, & sugar on one side.

Heat oil in frying pan on medium-high heat.

Fry fillets spiced side down & lid on 1-2 minutes per side.

Bring apple juice to boil in saucepan on medium-high.

Stir in 2 T sugar until it dissolves.

Add in blueberries and jalapenos.

Reduce heat to medium and stir until thickened.

Spoon sauce over finished filets.
